Now it’s the Battle of the Davids: Utah’s Archuleta moves on to ‘Idol’ finale

Even “American Idol’s” singing prodigy, David Archuleta, wasn’t sure if he sang well enough to make it to the grand finale of television’s most-watched program.

Right after he sang in Tuesday night’s episode – in which two of the three judges heaped him with glowing praise – the 17-year-old Murray teen sent a text to his friend Adam Ruben with sneaking doubts.

Murray Mayor Celebrates David’s Top 2 Victory

Community Pulls Together for David’s Homecoming

One Murray City employee said they started talking about a party for David Archuleta in April. They knew he would go far. David has been singing for the community for quite some time, even singing the National Anthem for Governor Huntsman’s first inaugural. But Friday, David had a lot more fans.
